Core Commitment: Zero Network Egress

Yunoda is engineered from the ground up on a fundamental guarantee: no data ever leaves your device. The Yunoda Android application manifest does not request or include the android.permission.INTERNET permission. Because our application lacks network capabilities at the operating system level, it is architecturally incapable of transmitting your videos, screenshots, text, search queries, or analytics to remote servers or third parties.

1. Data Collection & Screen Capture

Yunoda uses Android's MediaProjection service solely when explicitly enabled by you via the in-app Start button, Quick Settings tile, or floating capsule. Tracking never activates automatically in the background.

While active, Yunoda samples video frames locally to generate mathematical scene embeddings (visual representations) and transcribe on-screen caption text using on-device machine learning.

2. Status Bar & Notification Handling

To protect your personal conversations and alerts, our on-device optical character recognition (OCR) is strictly restricted to the lower content area of the video display. Notifications, incoming text previews, and status bar text appearing at the top of your screen are never transcribed, extracted, or indexed into searchable text.

Please note: Visual scene embeddings and cached preview keyframes represent the sampled screen as displayed during your active capture session. All keyframe images and embeddings remain stored solely inside your private, encrypted local database on the phone.

3. Storage, Retention & Deletion

Yunoda enforces local storage minimization:

  • Automatic Expiration: By default, recorded scenes are automatically purged after 7 days, backed by a rolling 2 GB disk quota. You can configure this retention window to 1 day, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, or Never.
  • Instant Manual Purge: You can wipe recent history at any time using the Delete Captured Scenes menu (last 10 minutes, last 24 hours, last 7 days, or entire database wipe).

4. Search & External App Hand-Off

When you perform a search, all query comparisons occur locally against your stored scenes. When you tap "Fetch in TikTok" or "Fetch in YouTube", Yunoda initiates standard Android system intent actions (ACTION_VIEW) containing the search query text.

This action merely opens the target app with your query, just as if you had typed it into the search box yourself. Yunoda transfers no video files, captured frames, or tracking history to these platforms.

5. Microphone Permission

Yunoda requests the microphone permission exclusively for user-initiated speech-to-text dictation within the search bar. The microphone is never used for ambient listening, background audio capture, or device-audio recording.

6. Purchases & Billing

Optional lifetime upgrades (Yunoda Pro) are processed strictly through the official Google Play Billing Library. All payment transactions, authentication, and token verification are executed directly by the Google Play Store app service on your device. Yunoda collects and stores no credit card or financial details.
